Successful INFOmatch International User Group Meeting and the ‘Screen Markets – Amsterdam 2015’ event

AMSTERDAM, October 1, 2015 – On September 28, INFOmatch’s International User Group Meeting again took place, which was very well attended with over 40 INFOmatch clients from The Netherlands, Belgium, Dubai, France, Germany, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States. The modern Mövenpick Hotel Amsterdam City Centre, with a spectacular view over the city and river IJ, served as venue for this event.

Based on last year’s evaluation and feedback from our user group community it was decided to change the format of this year’s get-together a bit. By doing so, we want to ensure that we continue to organise client events that meet the requirements of our customers. In short, this means that this year’s user group meeting was more focused on sharing client experiences and discussing client requirements & needs, practical situations and industry trends regarding the management of market data. In this perspective, we introduced roundtable discussion sessions to the agenda.

The meeting kicked off with an interactive workshop, which is primarily targeted at people using INFOmatch in supporting their daily tasks managing market data. The workshop was fully booked and we even had to schedule an additional session, which again shows that Screen INFOmatch serves a very lively and inquisitive user community. This year’s workshop theme was defined as “INFOmatch Enterprise Control – Self-Certification & Order Management”.

The second part of the meeting was reserved to present and discuss the upcoming new INFOmatch release, the use of INFOmatch at exchanges and our new hosting environment (up to 50% faster scalable infrastructure). After this the meeting was continued with a guest speaker presentation from Darran Spokes, Head of Vendor Management at Daiwa Capital Markets Europe Ltd, about “Tracking multiple spend categories in INFOmatch”. Darran updated the audience about how his firm is tracking multiple spend categories, beyond the traditional market data, in INFOmatch. He showed how INFOmatch can be used as a ‘golden source’ to have a better grip on procurement, cost, allocations and data management in general.

After a short break the meeting was continued with Screen staff moderated roundtable discussion sessions, in which small groups of customers from different institutions discussed several topics. With a total of 6 roundtables clients were able to participate in several sessions. The roundtable topics, which were predefined based on client suggestions, were about new INFOmatch development ideas, best practices, INFOmatch reports, vendor management, market data compliance, exchange usage reporting and data feeds & applications. The discussions created a lot of lively interaction and exchange of information between other clients and Screen staff.

The meeting was closed with informal drinks and dinner in the city centre of Amsterdam at a roof-top lounge bar overlooking this unique metropolis. In the end, it was a very fruitful and interactive day. We received lots of valuable feedback and input, which will be used by us to prioritise and detail our future software development path, support and service offering.

The next day, September 29, the Screen Group was also present at ‘Screen Markets – Amsterdam 2015’, which already was the 23rd products and services event for the European professional financial services community. The Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ was again selected to act as the venue for this one-day event. The Screen Group booth was well visited by customers, business relations and passers-by that were curious to learn more about Screen’s in-house developed data management inventory system, INFOmatch. Furthermore, they showed a serious interest in Screen’s leading consultancy practice dealing with reference & market data and investment management advisory services.

Central theme of this year’s event was defined as “Going for growth and value: which financial information services to invest in?”. One of the highlights of the day was the keynote speech by Joris Luyendijk about his book “Swimming With Sharks: My Journey into the World of the Bankers”.

The event turned out to be a perfect platform to learn more about the latest trends in technology for the professional investment industry. In addition to this it again provided excellent networking and B2B opportunities.
