Market Data Insights (MDI) chooses INFOmatch for ‘Market Data Management-as-a-Service’ practice

AMSTERDAM and NEW YORK, November 21, 2014 – Market data management veterans Rich Sigillo and Cindy Johnson have set up a new company focused on providing market data expense management and optimization as a managed service for firms that are not large enough to have a dedicated market data management function or want to outsource portions of their market data management processes.

Sigillo and Johnson set up Market Data Insights this summer. The company now has eight full-time and part-time staff, and three clients, as well as a number of pilot projects that the company hopes to convert into at least one more live client by year-end.

MDI uses Dutch vendor Screen INFOmatch’s inventory management platform to track firms’ data spend and usage, and uses the results to perform functions such as invoice allocation and processing, managing data services, licenses and contracts, contract negotiation, and to support cost-saving initiatives—tailored to a firm’s size and needs for a fixed monthly fee.

“INFOmatch… provides the alerts so we can prepare clients for renewals, look at their usage, and put them in a position to renegotiate or look at alternatives,” Sigillo says. “But a market data management solution is more than expense management; it has to include optimization of market data usage and cost. Our approach is to take on work that people struggle with, fill their resource gaps, and do it efficiently.”
